Add, edit, or clone a berth model

A berth is defined as the water area at the water front edge of a wharf that is reserved for docking vessels.

A berth model describes the physical locations of the berth areas, bollard locations, and the minimum spacing and time delays between vessels. Each berth model is associated with a specific complex, and there can be only one berth model per complex.

Use the Berth Models view to create, edit, and clone berth models, and to view all available berth models. You cannot delete a berth model in this view. The Berth Models view column headings are listed in the table below.

The yard model (on page 1) and the berth model are not directly related; however, the berths in the yard model relate to the berth model by the association between the yard and its complex. Within N4, each berth is implemented in the yard model. The system maps the two-dimensional berth coordinates in N4 to the one-dimensional (linear) coordinate system used by XPS.

You can use the Actions Export SNX File option to export the selected berth models as an XML file using the snx.xsd format.

To add a berth model, use one of these methods:

To edit a berth model:

  1. In the Berth Models list view, select the berth model that you want to edit.

  1. Click (the Edit icon) to edit the record. The Edit Berth Model form displays.

To clone a berth model:

  1. In the Berth Models list view, select the berth model that you want to clone.

  1. Right-click the model and select Clone.
